Tub time

We've been making bathtubs for years and we're always excited to see a new design come to fruition.

One of our favorites is the Metro Tub, below.

The Metro Tub was designed to fit into small spaces like bathrooms that feel more like closets, in places such as New York City.

The formwork below is from a much larger custom design.

This bathtub is huge (approx. 9' x 4'). It was recently delivered to a residence in Standfordville, NY. Clearly, this is going in a large bathroom and was designed to fit either one tall person or multiple small people. Either way, it's very nice.

Here it is in the process of being finished.
We'll be sure to share the photos of the end result when we receive them.

Spring Color Trends

So, according to Pantone, and we know they do their homework, these colors are hot for Spring.

 Solar Power
 Margarita

 Tangerine Tango
   Sodalite Blue

                  Sweet Lilac
 Bellflower
   Starfish

To our delight, we happened to have these colors in concrete finishes just lying around (no kidding)!

Sometimes things just come together beautifully.

Done and Done...Alger

We diamond polished these existing floors at the office space for Alger in Manhattan.

This is an extremely cost effective way to rehab existing concrete. It is also easy to maintain and requires no topical sealer. That means no smelly chemicals (yay!).

Polished concrete reflects light, cutting down on energy costs. These are just some of the reasons diamond polished concrete is becoming a smart option for flooring.

We just happily polished the floors.

Local ♥ Maple Farms

One of the best things about living in the Hudson Valley is experiencing some of the local seasonal events. At the moment it is Maple syrup time and if you like pancakes, syrup, supporting local farms, or tasting something real, then check out one of these fests.

March 24 & 25
Cronin's Maple Farm Maple Festival

In the works...The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls

Lately, we've been busy at this historic site in Beacon, NY.

It's an industrial complex that is being transformed into a boutique hotel. It will boast a luxury spa, restaurant, and an event space to accommodate 250 people.

We've polished the existing concrete floors and now things are really getting going.

There are so many good things about this project. It's local, which we love. It's being built and run using green principles. It will also be partially powered by the falls, using an existing, refurbished hydroelectric plant.

Not to mention the views...

In the works...Local Residence

We've mentioned that our finishing department resembles a spa (for concrete of course). This is what I mean...

These countertops are being ground to expose the glass and aggregate within them. A little exfoliation.

They start out all muddy and slushy, but then they're smooth, glowing, and gorgeous. You can tell they're happy, right? Sometimes I wonder what would happen if we wrapped them in seaweed.

By the way, we can make countertops in any color and mix glass, shell, or pretty much anything you can think of into them.

The possibilities are endless.
