Done and Done...Urbo

Urbo has opened in Times Square and it's getting a lot of positive press for its interior finishes. The concrete floors in the entryway have been polished by GRS, as seen below.

Additionally (and this is something that we're really excited about), Urbo features our Trowel Applied Board Formed concrete wall finish.

This finish, which is hand troweled onto the walls, is super cool. It mimics board formed concrete but...it's seamless, 1/4" thick, requires no additional support or installation...

and it looks fantastic.

If you'd like to know more about this unique product (we think you should) then contact GRS and we'll fill you in. To see how it's done, check out this post.

Done and Done...Organic Avenue

We recently manufactured precast concrete countertops for Organic Avenue, an upscale "grab-and-go" store specializing in organic food and cold-pressed juices. Yum.

Currently, there are two locations in Manhattan with our tops. These photos feature the Bryant Park store, with another on Park Avenue South.

The tops were poured at 1 1/2" thick in our standard color G.

There's an inlay of concrete in a wooden countertop
that is currently being used to feature their daily sampling of juices.

Look for more posts about Organic Avenue in the future as there are more stores to come!

Another (fun) day at work.

This is a video of our fabulous crew troweling a wall.
They're applying a base and stamping it to give it a wood-grain look.
Clearly this finish is labor intensive and entails a process,
which looks a little monotonous.

However, we can't help but point out that this looks a bit like they're on a merry-go round. They look proud and accomplished when they're finished and we'd like to think it may have even been a fun day at work.

This new restaurant by Global Food International is in Times Square.
