in the works... billy joes
The bar tops have been poured and demolded.
You can see bits of exposed metal peeking out and bug holes that add to the distressed look.

uline
There is something so funny about page 55 of the current Uline catalog...
Not sure if it's the size of the bin
or how dejected this man looks or both...
in the works... billy joes
now were making bar tops for the patio.
You can see the pieces are formed up as usual...

The unusual part is that these bars have bits of metal embedded in the face,
to add to the industrial / distressed feel of the bar.

thanks
there is nothing like an 11(-ish) girls signature...
Like snowflakes, no two of the Girl Scouts thank -yous are alike.
local ♥
This week we're in love with BBQ.
We discovered Billy Joe's Ribworks while when we made their bar top and vanities.
We keep going back for the food and it's "pink ring of perfection".
Check out both.

press update
We might have missed it the first time, but it has caught someones eye...
The tile are now featured in an ad for Landscape Architecture Magazine...
in the works... jane's carousel
The cast-in-place concrete at Brooklyn Bridge Park (DUMBO) looks like an ufo landing pad...
We're so excited to see the results!

press
We do so many projects sometimes we can't keep up with the press
....yeah that's it...
Here's roof top tile from NYC that we did for Sawyer / Berson Architects from (gulp) 2003.
It really is stunning and well, timeless.

in the works... girl scouts
Recently, we teamed up with Hyde Park Girl Scout Troop 10205 to help in their recycling efforts.
The girls collect used gift cards from area merchants and we ship them off to be recycled.
They have saved 5,940 cards from landfills since January!!!
Should you find yourself at a participating merchant (Starbucks, Barnes & Noble, Adam's Fairacre Farms, Dunkin' Donuts and the Galleria Mall) remember to recycle your spent cards.
If you want to start a recycling program in your area, it's easy to get started.

done + done... crave restaurant
We have done work for Ed Kowalski and his team before,
but the bartop and restroom vanities for Crave really shine (literally).
The custom colored concrete has recycled mirror and
gold glass pieces embedded during the casting process.
The surfaces were then ground down reveal the subtle sparkle.
If you're in the neighborhood, stop in and have a drink and a ginger-miso pork belly app...

Two words...
MAPLE SYRUP.
Sugaring season is in full swing and our collective sweet tooth couldn't be happier.
Cronin's Maple Farm in Fishkill, NY offers a great tour and pancake breakfast.
You'll go home seriously full, and smarter* and best of all your hair will smell like syrup.
*we learned it takes 40 - 50 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup (!!!)

local ♥
This local ♥ is a two in one.
First, go to Red Devon Restaurant in Bangall, NY.
Order anything.
Bask in the satisfaction of knowing it will be delicious.
Second, go across the street to the cutest post office EVER.
Step inside and feel like you went back in time.
Smile because you had another great day in the Hudson Valley.

done & done... guggenheim
The diamond polished floor turned out so well, if we may say so ourselves.
The gloss surface really shines...
Not a bad office, right?

We might have a problem...
an intervention worthy problem...
This tasty restaurant is right around the corner, and to say we're regulars is an understatement.
Please don't ask what our favorite is, because we love it ALL.
Well, maybe it's the spring chicken with hot sauce...
or the fries with lemon and oregano...
or the baklava...

in the works... guggenheim
We've been diamond polishing an existing floor at the Guggenheim Museum offices.
There were a few channels to fill first...
then we got to polishing...
ghosts of promotion past
There is something about this backdrop that screams 90's...
although not as much as this screams 80's.
